I unfortunately cannot recommend this practice after my experience here.

What has been most disappointing is the lack of proactive dental care. I have a history of cracked teeth, something my dentist was aware of, yet I was never advised that this put me at an increased risk of further fractures or that there were preventive measures we should consider. I had to ask several times for a sleep piece to protect my teeth.

Earlier this year, one of my teeth suddenly became extremely painful and then died. I ended up at the dental emergency service on a Sunday after waking up with a swollen face. The tooth was opened and treated as an emergency, and I subsequently returned to this practice to continue the root canal treatment. Mind you, I had been at the practice barely 3 months before for a professional tooth cleaning and check up with the dentist.

After some weeks that filling falls out and I go again. On the 2nd root canal treatment, about 1,5 month after the first one, the dentist noticed that I had cracked my tooth. At that point I was told there was no longer any reason to continue trying to save it and that it would have to be extracted.

I have since consulted another dentist about the extraction and implant. Given my history of cracked teeth, I specifically asked whether this outcome might have been preventable. I was told that in general root canal treatment always puts teeth in risk of fracture and I should have been told.

I understand that dentistry cannot prevent every complication and that teeth can fracture despite appropriate care. What I find unacceptable is that these risks were never discussed with me and that there seemed to be very little attention to prevention. I am now losing a tooth and facing an extraction, implant surgery, and considerable additional expense. Also I have peridontitis apparently, confirmed by 2 other dentists, but denied by this practice.

For me, good dental care should include identifying risks and discussing how to preserve teeth before problems become irreversible. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience here.
